Washington Dulles Airport Guide
GETTING TO THE AIRPORT :
BY CAR
From downtown Washington take the I66 West. At exit 67 follow airport
signs and join the Dulles Access Road.
TAXI
Journey time from downtown Washington is 30-45 minutes depending on
traffic.
Fare: approx $45-$50.
TRAIN
There is no train service direct to Dulles. The DC Metrorail Orange
line goes as far as West Falls Church where a bus connects with the
airport. The transfer bus runs every 30 minutes from 6.15 am to 10.45
pm weekdays and 8.15 am to 10.45 pm weekends. Journey time from West
Falls Church station to the airport is 25 minutes.
Transfer Bus Fare: $8 one way, $14 round trip.
BUS
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority bus service
operates from L'Enfant Plaza metro station at D and 7th Streets SW.
Departures every hour from 5.33 am to 10.37 pm, journey time around
50 minutes.
Fare: $2.
Metrobus services are also available from various DC locations to the
West Falls Church Metrorail station to connect with the Washington
Flyer Express bus to Dulles.

PARKING :
SHORT TERM (HOURLY) PARKING
The Short Term parking lot is located right in front of Dulles' main
terminal building. It is intended primarily for dropping off and
picking up passengers.
DAILY (GARAGE) PARKING
There are two Daily Parking Garages at Dulles. Daily Garage 1 is
north of the terminal, located on the far side of the Hourly lot from
the terminal. There is a moving walkway to the terminal.
Daily Garage 2 is northwest of the main terminal near the
International Arrivals Building. The garage is connected to the
terminal by covered walkway.
Daily parking combines the convenience of parking near the terminal
with cheaper rates than the short term lot. The cheapest parking
option is Economy Parking.
LONG TERM (ECONOMY) PARKING
The Long Term economy lots - the Purple, Gold, Green and Blue areas -
are on Rudder Road some distance from the terminal. A free 24 hour
shuttle connects the Long Term lots with the terminal Departures
area.
For periods of a few hours to several days this is the cheapest
parking option at Dulles. Allow more time for transportation to the
terminal however.
